Over the last couple of weeks, the children have enjoyed having both chick and duckling eggs arrive in school. They have been able to observe them hatch then revive after their strenuous achievements before rapidly developing into lively, fluffy creatures that were soon able to feed and drink for themselves. The process enriched and brought the children’s science learning of animal topics to life where they learnt about the care of animals, growing, life cycles, diets and habitats.
