Government information for FSM Children

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope that you are all well. I want to take this opportunity to continue to thank you for everything you are doing to support your children and also show appreciation to the vast majority of you who have been so positive and understanding during this time.

The Government has recently announced the National Voucher Scheme for children eligible for Free School Meals. Please note that this is not the same as the Infant School Meals or Eat for Free for KS2 children which have both been suspended. Schools will have been in contact with parents of children eligible for  these vouchers and will continue to contact families entitled to this benefit. Parents should check their eligbility by completing the application  on line using the following link to Newham’s website  https://www.newham.gov.uk/Pages/Services/Free-school-meals.aspx.

Your school will be informed if your child is eligible and they will then be able to provide the vouchers. If you feel that you are eligible and you have completed the online form, but have not heard anything, please contact your school.

Once you have been identified we will send information to you regarding the way in which the system works and what you will need to access the vouchers and where they can be used. We will also happily help make sure you can access this.

In the meantime, if you need non-medical support  or are struggling to get out to get shopping due to family self isolation please contact the Trust’s Helpline on  07944 224 266, Monday to Friday 10am-3pm.  School staff will be on hand to signpost parents to external services and offer help where possible using our volunteers.

Best wishes,

Paul Harris
