Baseball fever continued at Curwen on Friday 7th June, as a group of year 3/4 children had the opportunity to attend the MLB London Series Workout Day at the London Stadium. 

The event was a great opportunity for the children to see a major sporting venue as they’ve never seen it before with the home of West Ham United being transformed from a football pitch to a baseball diamond. The children got to experience a taste of Major League Baseball as players from the New York Mets as well as the Philadelphia Phillies took to the field for batting practice.

The children marvelled as both teams displayed their elite level of baseball skill, hitting incredible shots high into the arena and soaked in the ballpark atmosphere with the mascots and many schools in the stands.

A big thank you to all the MLB staff and event volunteers for making it such an enjoyable experience for our children and we hope that the event will inspire them to have a go at playing baseball in the future!
