London Wide Showcase
Curwen Represented at London Wide Showcase
On Tuesday the 24th of March Curwen wowed a London wide showcase of performance poetry for the Spoken Word Education Programme that took place in Walthamstow. Curwen was the only primary school of the eight participating schools from across London and was voted as 'best performance' by a majority of the audience. The trip, attended by Year 3, 4, 5 and 6, was organised by Miss Hulls, Miss Bailie and Curwen's in house poetry, beat box, improvisation teacher Mr Bearder (aka Poetry Pete).
"Curwen's young poets did the school proud and showed their muscle as writers and performers. The Spoken Word Education Programme is the world's first initiative to place full time professional poets in schools. We are really excited that Curwen have joined this growing family of words. They will go on to become the spoken word superstars of tomorrow", said Pete.
