Summer 2

This term, children have learnt about; Where do we live? Where do animals live?  Where do I go with my family? Where do I go to school?

We have explored the local community, discovered new environments, nature and the wider world. Children are beginning explore, question and discover the world around them. Children have discovered different life cycles, animals and where they live, their habitat. We looked after caterpillars and saw them turn into butterflies. We released them in our garden and the children were really excited to see them fly away.

We went to Sea Life Aquarium with our families and we travelled by train. What an adventure! Everyone enjoyed London landmarks and had the opportunity to discover the wonderful world of sharks, jellyfish, penguins and a large variety of different sea creatures.

Ark Farm visited our school and the children had the opportunity to use their sense to explore farm animals and discovered some new fun-facts. Stroking animals taught children about what different textures feel like. Some children prefer the soft touch of a rabbit and others the wiry texture of a donkey. This was new vocabulary for the children to learn. The day was full of baas, moos and neighs.  Children are beginning to understand the need to respect and care for the natural environment and all living things.

In preparation for September we visited the main dinner hall and stayed for lunch. The parents joining their child and they enjoyed tasting the food.

A massive thanks to all mums, dads and relatives who came to enjoy EYFS Sports Day in our playground. They were impressed how children have developed their motor skills, coordination, balance and strength.

It has been another fantastic term in Nursery and the children are very excited about going to Reception or staying another year in Nursery.

Have a fantastic summer break!!
