Curwen's Artsmark Ambassadors
Our school prides itself on offering a broad, engaging curriculum to our children, which includes many opportunities to engage in the arts and cultural education. In recognition of this, this year we are working towards the Artsmark Award, which celebrates culture and creativity across the curriculum. Earlier this term, children were given the opportunity to apply to become Artsmark Ambassadors for the arts disciplines - art and design, drama, dance and music. We are pleased to announce that 19 children across Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 were successful in their interviews and auditions.
The first Ambassadors meeting took place on Tuesday. Lots of ideas were discussed, most notably how the arts help to develop skills and promote confidence, resilience and creativity. Lunchtime activities were also talked about; the Ambassadors are keen to encourage children to participate in the arts in many different ways. Promoting the arts with the wider school community was also debated. The children are looking forward to promoting their love for the arts and cultural education with you too!
