Curwen Primary School

Year 3 Visit the Museum

We had such an exciting day at the museum. It was a perfect place to see the Roald Dahl’s writing process in action. Children discovered different techniques of editing used by him.

We walked through the courtyard of the museum, got inspired by the buildings. We also managed to locate the grave of Roald Dahl along with the bench with the names of his five children and three stepchildren. Children enjoyed reading the poem carved into the stone slabs around the base of the bench taken from ‘The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me.’

The highlight of the day was the story center where children enjoyed learning about Roald Dahl’s life by exploring the fun, interactive galleries in a facilitated session.
