Curwen Primary School

Summer 1 Update

This term our topic has been ‘Growth’ and we have been exploring many things about growing. We explored animals and their young and how plants grow. We also took a trip to Marsh farm and had a look at lots of different farm animals and their habitats. We had the chance to stroke and feed lots of animals, we had a fantastic time!

We also had the opportunity to observe, talk and ask questions about the lifecycle of a chick. We used our sounds to write some facts about the chicks and shared these with our peers. We developed our communication and language skills through exploring a range of new vocabulary such as hatch, incubator, egg tooth and pipping

This term in maths we have been developing our skills on exploring halves and used real life objects such as cucumbers to act our own maths stories and solve word problems.
