Welcome back after the Christmas break.  We have had a brilliant start to the Spring Term in year 1. In Topic we have been learning about seasons and weather and traveling around the UK. In Art we have been on an educational visit to the National Portrait Gallery. This links to what we have been doing in class and the Big Outcome that parents will be invited to come to and view in Spring 2.

 

Literacy

In guided reading we have been looking at new vocabulary, answering prove it questions and predicting. During the spring term we have had World Book Day which parents were invited to come and see what the children have been learning about.

 

Maths

In maths we have been doing a lot of group work with our peers acting out division and multiplication stories. We have also been using our partitioning skills and moving on to adding numbers with two digits using the column method.
