Curwen Primary School

Autumn 2

We have been learning about ‘Celebrations’. There are lots of different Celebrations which are special to people.

We went on a trip to West Ham Parish Church, we started off from school and walked all the way to the church. We learnt how to walk safely along the pavement.

At the church, we observed our surroundings and made observational drawings of the stained glass windows and objects in the church. We looked at the different shapes, colours and details.

When arriving back at school we explored a variety of materials to make some stained glass windows, bibles, candles and an organ. We used scissors, glue, paint and tissue paper. We worked really well as a team to create our objects for a role play church that Nursery can visit.

We really enjoyed our trip!
