Curwen Primary School

Summer 2

Congratulations to all our Year 6 pupils for their outstanding effort not only in preparing for SATs but also for their continued hard work and commitment throughout the Summer Term.

As part of our Science curriculum, we visited the Natural History Museum for an engaging workshop on evolution. The students participated in hands-on activities to understand what evolution is, why it happens, and how it works. They discovered evidence of evolution within the museum’s galleries.

As well as exploring different foundation topics such as History (The Vikings), Computing (Creating leavers videos) and Geography (Earthquakes and Volcanos), the children enjoyed several trips, including visits to Chessington and Nando’s.

They also took part in two weeks of swimming lessons, making remarkable progress with their swimming skills. Additionally, the students enhanced their confidence and music skills while preparing for our successful Leavers Concert, which featured an original score and lyrics by the legendary Mr Murdoch. Not forgetting two of our favourite events of the year: Prom and Sports Day – see photos below.
